Hedy, born Hedwig Eva Maria Kiesler, was an Austrian-American actress and inventor. She was born in Austria in 1914 and later moved to the United States.

During World War II, she helped invent a special way to send secret messages using something called frequency hopping. This idea helped protect signals from being tracked or jammed and is now used in modern technology like WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS.
